7 Taylor Swift “Look What You Made Me Do” Costume Ideas To Rock This Halloween

Love to hate or hate to love her, T-Swift’s latest music video has you talking. Admit it. In her latest album release, Taylor packed on the heat, directly addressing a lot of the criticism, rumors, and haters that have been swirling around her since, well, forever. Lucky for us, it’s inspired some pretty awesome Taylor Swift “Look What You Made Me Do” Halloween costume ideas that we are pumped to try out.

The album, aptly titled , is supposedly a re-birth of Taylor Swift, as she cheekily explains in her first single saying, “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, ’cause she’s dead!” Cue the collective gasp. Throughout the video, Miss Swift sports various looks and costume changes, systematically addressing specific scandals she has been a part of. From the infamous time Kanye “let her finish,” to her feud with Katy Perry, it’s all here. And I’ll just say it, she looks freaking great doing it.

Choosing which look to pick for Halloween can be difficult, but luckily I’m here to give you a breakdown of some of your best options and also what you’ll need to pull it off. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you about what it’s going to do to your reputation.

1. Zombie Taylor

Youtube

In the first moments of watching this video, I really felt like Taylor messed up by not releasing this video  Halloween. The opening seconds of “Look What You Made Me Do” are straight out of a Hitchcock film, and her first look is perfect for a night of haunting and flaunting.

a white nightgown, white and brown face paint, dirty hair.

2. Diamond Tub Taylor

Youtube

Though this is the first time we’ve actually Taylor in a bathtub full of diamonds with our own eyes, something tells me this is her most authentic self. Swimming in a bowl of jewelry, rocking her signature red lipstick, and acting just a little too cool for comfort, Swift looks most at home in said tub.

Assuming you aren’t a millionaire, go pick up lots and lots and lots of rhinestones or sequins, lipstick, and fake eyelashes.

3. Diva Driving Taylor

Youtube

Weirdly, this is my favorite Taylor in the music video. Probably because deep down all I want out of this world is to sport a slick high pony-tail and cheetah print… Oh, and to be rich enough to own  car, let alone  car.

all gold everything, big sunglasses, cheetah print coat, fake nails.

4. Cat Robber Taylor

Youtube

Nope, I don’t know what is going on here either. Using my context clues, it looks like Taylor and her friends are robbing a bank and also, like, threatening to beat people up with a baseball bat? Look, Tay-Tay’s made it clear she doesn’t need to explain herself ever, so don’t bother asking.

thigh-high red boots, black oversized sweatshirt, cat mask, Monopoly money.

5. Snake Queen Taylor

Youtube

Ok, this Taylor look is something about being a Slytherin with a touch of Jafar from . Very 2017, very millennial chic.

red flowing dress, fake snakes, teapot.

6. REP Taylor, Whatever That Means

Youtube

All right, I know what you’re thinking, “Jamie, what even is this look?” and you know what? I just don’t know. I  know that “rep” is short for “reputation,” which is the name of this album, so it’s gotta be some sort of PR something-or-other. Still, it’s a big moment in the music video when she stands on top of all of the old versions of herself wearing this furry and also very short number, so we had to include it in the list.

black leotard, a fuzzy black blanket/coat/piece of fabric from Walmart for the sleeves, more rhinestones to write “rep” on your chest.

7. Taylor’s Biggest Fan

Youtube

This is the easiest and most straight-forward “LWYMMD” (that’s how the kids are referencing it, right?) costume. Bonus: This outfit triples as a Taylor Swift  Todrick Hall ex-boyfriend Tom Hiddleston costume.

black T-shirt to cut up, gold and red puff paint.

Don’t see anything that resonates with your personal favorite Taylor Swift on this list? No problem. You can always just fast forward to the end and revisit alllll the Tay-tays you know and love (or hate).

Dang, look what Taylor made us do.
